SUBANG JAYA: Taylor’s University (TU) students were exposed to prevention and treatment of cervical cancer at ‘Protect Yourself and Your Loved Ones Against Cervical Cancer’ talk organised by Taylor’s University (TU) Biosciences Club.
Family physician Dr Lee Cheng Lok who was the speaker, spoke about the signs, symptoms, causes, preventions and treatments of cervical cancer.
He added, “Doctors should also do their part by keeping up to the latest updates to give the right information to the patients.
Dr Lee said that he hopes students could share the knowledge on cervical cancer to their loved ones.
Biosciences Club committee member Lai Jia Yee, 21, said that the reason of organising the talk was due to cervical cancer being the second most common cancer for women in Malaysia.
“We should prevent cervical cancer from happening instead of worrying about its implications,” School of Biosciences student Natasha Anne Fernandez, 21, said.
Held on 29 October, the talk was one of the activities supporting Health Awareness Campaign 2015, also organised by Biosciences Club.
