SUBANG JAYA: The surroundings of Taylor’s University’s free parking lot is extremely dark after sundown, which might posed a threat to those who often go home late alone, especially girls.
“Honestly, it is very dangerous for girls who walk back to their cars alone,” said School of Communication (SOC) student Yap Shi Ying, 21.
Yap also added that there was no light at all at the free parking lot when at night.
Hence, people could not really see anything when they were walking back to their cars.
“I think Taylor’s security department needs to do something about it,” she suggested.
She added that, “But in the meantime, girls need to be more careful and know how to take care of themselves.”
SOC student Tan Den Jie, 21, expressed that he was always worried about his girlfriend when she had to attend her classes until late night.
“There were many complaints in the past, but none of them actually worked,” Tan said.
Tan suggested that the Taylor’s security department should come up with some ideas to overcome this issue.
Some of his suggestions include adding some lampposts at the free parking lot or adding more security guards especially at night.
“If anything bad happens, Taylor’s would be held responsible,” he said.
Nonetheless, Tan mentioned that, raising awareness about this issue is also very important, as the students especially girls need to know about this.
Tan added that, students should try to be more aware of their surroundings when walking to the car park.
