SUBANG JAYA: Over 100 of School of Communication (SOC) Broadcasting students were placed in a competitive challenge to produce a recruitment video.
The winning team will have their project used as EcoWorld’s official recruitment video.
“This is a company where we appreciate innovative ideas and as a Generation Y, I have the platform to suggest new ideas to do things differently in the branding perspective,” said EcoWorld’s Group Branding Senior Manager Tang Shu Shen, 30.
Tang was also a Taylor’s Business School student and he believes that the project will bring a bout of friendly competition between diploma and degree students.
“The key learning experience is on the process of how the video should be produced while taking consideration of the client’s demand,” Tang explained.
Tang added that EcoWorld is unlike any other property developer. The project will be placing students under the real challenge of producing a video that befits EcoWorld’s standards.
Lecturer of SOC, Terence Theva Raj agreed that the project is a good opportunity for students.
“Students can gain hands-on experience in a proper industry level project and work with actual clients,” he said.
Terence said that students had to travel to the EcoWorld office to scout the location and listen to the briefing.
“The project definitely helps when it goes into the student’s portfolio,” Terence added.
Tang emphasized that passion is anyone’s key to success regardless of what you do, who you work for and where you work at.
“Passion drives interest, attitude and hard work,” Tang said.
